musings on the beautiful and true

1. I have never seen the sea in winter
Except in pictures
Where it looks magnificent and wild
In a way it never does in summer,
Like it's rebelling from long months
Of entertaining, when it puts on its friendliest face.
Roaring, vaulting into blue-grey skies,
Ecstatic as it swallows up the snow
Which sometimes creeps down to the shore.
The sea proclaims it's darkest side once more.
I am of the sea
But how can I say I know it, or even me
Until I have seen the sea in winter.
